Chocolate Caramel Fingers - Caroline

Shortbread
4 oz sugar
8 oz butter
12 oz flour

In a mixer cream together butter and sugar. Add flour 1 Tbsp
at a time until it is all incorporated.

Caramel
4 oz butter
4 oz sugar
3 oz golden syrup*
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

Add all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 10 mins stirring constantly. Don't cook this until the shortbread is almost done.

2 4oz baking chocolate bars (you can combine semi-sweet, dark, milk)

Line a 13x9 sheet pan with parchment paper and grease that so it doesn’t stick. Spread the dough in the pan, it is crumbly so press it down into the pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and pour the caramel on top and cool.

Melt the baking chocolate bars in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time and when the caramel has cooled, pour the chocolate over it. Let cool
