Hashbrown Potato Casserole - Tharrin

16 oz sour cream
1 can Cream of Chicken or Cream of Celery soup
1/4 c melted unsalted butter
2 c grated sharp or extra sharp cheese
1/2 c chopped green onion
2 Tbsp minced garlic
1/4 c chives (optional)
2 lbs frozen shredded hash brown potatoes

Topping
2 c corn flakes, saltine crackers or potato chips
1Tbsp melted butter (if using potato chips omit butter)

In a large bowl mix all the ingredients except for the hash browns. Add the hash browns and mix thoroughly. Spread in a 9x13 casserole dish.

Mix the topping ingredients and spread evenly over the casserole. Bake at 375° for 60 - 75minutes.
